Thread: Red cedar slabs (baby)

Decided i would have a go at milling this log myself instead of giving it away. Only small and has some soft spots. Looks brilliant as it comes off the slabber.

I cut the timber 35mm thick. Seemed adequate because of the size of the log.

Not sure if I am getting enough oil through to the chain. It is only a slow drip and the chain seems oily but then this is only a small log. Will that sort of flow rate be ok for a larger and harder eucalypt?

There are still several other small bits laying about (with painted ends) so I will have another go in the future. Any suggestions or comments on how things might be improved. Will have to make some shaped bases to hold the logs steadier.
