Camphor Laurel Stump
A beast of a thing
Stump is 6m long x 4.5m wide
Log at base is 1600mm wide
Found a piece from where it was scarfed
Crikey ...lovely grain here
The scent of Camphor is very strong
Going to be some very special stuff out of this one...MMMapleman

I hope that you managed to save the trunk of that camphor and that it did not just get chipped.

What can be said Chris, this is a great find and i'm sure you'll be swarmed when you put it up for sale.
Obviously I'll be stalking your future posts.
Cheers, Ian"The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot.. it can't be done.

Not sure who ended up with it but to be honest reckon that there would have been a few surprises of the metal kind within it though
Cubby houses,steps,swings,ferns,orhids...imagine all those nails driven in over its 100 odd years
The stump shouldn't be too bad in that the soil is sandy and seemingly devoid of rocks, making the cleaning process a bit easier
The grain will be superb
Issue will be finding suitable transport to get it home....i am thinking big tiltray ...MMMapleman
