Thats one of the type that likes it & leaves a zig zag pattern behind with not too much damage, the other borers range from 10mm to 25mm & just seem to wind there way through from the heart to the bark. The 10mm one can spiral up a tree like a helix popping out every meter or so wrecking the timber.

we havent been able to get logs out for 3 weeks.
got some milling done today, had to drive threw the creek to get to teh mill, got me floor all wet,
got teh tractor stuck twice trying to snig a few logs down teh road, and got teh bobcat sunk to the chassis,
but got 1.5 cube of logs cut in about 4 hours of mug swingign fun.
spent teh arvo geting gravel outa the creek to firm up the ground.

I tipped out 480mm from the rain gauge last week, luckily I had a few loads of logs on the dump to get me thru.
I would be knocking & rolling 1/2 a meter out of that fallen tree to see if it has any good timber in it.

It has a pipe around 300mm at 8m,but the log is still 1200mm wide,so there is plenty of wood left in him. Would do a deal if someone came in and milled it; i am too busy at the moment; the log is easily accessable, just got to be docked a dragged out of creek. It massive , need a skidder maybe an excavator to move it Can mill it in the paddock though
