    Default Salvage of decent twig.

    Hi all,

Salvaged this nice little log the other day from a windblown tree in a farmers paddock. Main but log went 9 tonnes and got another 20 tonnes of logs and firewood from it, not bad for a mornings work. Diameter at the butt was a whisker under 6' and about 4'6" at the other end. I am expecting it will mill up nicely in March when milling season kicks off again.

Hope you are all fairing well with the fires around the country.

    Cheers,

    James.

It's a big river redgum, can't wait to get the mill into it. While big, not the biggest we have tackled. Get an eyefull of these monsters!

They are all redgums that went 25t, 18t, 20t and 11t respectively. They take a huge effort to mill but are worth it in the long run, and yes, lots of icypole sticks in those ones!

The secret to tackling these monsters is always bite off more than you can chew and wing it from there on!

    Cheers,

    James

    "Sticks"? "Twigs"?

There's something wrong with my understanding of the English language...
oh its Aussie "humour" (over & under exaggeration to make a point)

Surely "decent" was the correct word to focus on? Those things are not "decent" !
