Salvaged Logs
Been a few storms around here, the silver lining to this is lots of trees down. I hooked up the trailer and did a drive around. Scored a nice Peltophorem tree as well as lots of Sally wattle. Anyway have started putting it through the BSM. Got some nice peices out it. Milling the timber is the easy part, boraxing the slabs and stacking it all takes the most time, but it is worth it to get good timber.Sally logs.jpg Peltophorem grain 2.jpgPeltophorem grain 1.jpgPeltophorem logs.jpgPeltophorem stacked.jpgSally stacked.jpgSally slab.jpgRunning out of room.jpg

Looking at your log pile easiest thing to do would be to find a (cattle) trough lying about - most every station dump has a couple spares lying in it - fill with your borax and just dip each one in as it comes off the mill. Or split a couple 44 gallon drums and weld them lengthwise to form a trough. It won't fit all of them but painless with most would be a good place to start.

I see you are keeping busy! I hope you have success with the Peltophorem as the borers love the stuff.
