Default Salvaging Fire Effected Fallen Trees

    Hi All,
ive several trees fallen after fires went through my property 18 months ago. Mostly Brush Box and Ironbark that fell weeks/months after the fires.
Are these trees/logs still useable? I heard that structurally some trees are compromised if they fall after a fire.
Also, after the floods I have some grey gum (I think River gum) and maybe a mahogany (swamp??) which have fallen root ball and all. Are these useable?
Thanks in advance for any advice.

I think you will find anything chared by fire is tough on tools, as for the flood timber seal the ends with water paint and let dry for two to three years

    Thanks for that. Much appreciated.
What's the science behind the drying of the trees that have fallen root ball and all? They haven't been submerged, just fell because they couldn't keep hold any longer. Healthy looking otherwise.
Also, fire timber fell long after the fire past, just the butt burnt out. Does that still heat/cook the timber?
Thanks for the feedback once again.

Ive been milling a lot of fire chared logs lately. Nothing wrong with them.
