So am I right in thinking, this system can't accomodate for log taper and always runs parrallel with the bottom of the log? I'd say that would be alright for fairly even logs but if you get some ordinary ones which have a large flare, it means a lot of your boards will have some pretty bad sloping grain doesn't it?
The idea of having a low track to the side and a high track to the other side is appealing for the ease of movement around the mill, but if it is at the expense of timber quality, I'll stick to walking a bit more.
Am i not thinking about something or are you limited to running parrallel with the ground?I love my Lucas!! ...just ask me!

ok, so for a tapered log you'll use a 'high' log support at the thin end and a 'low' support at the thick end? is that right?
Where is Barwon Heads - just had a look online, is there a palce where penguins hang around near you? I seem to remember something when I did my driver training for the Army, something about penguins hanging around somewhere close to there? Is that right, or am I gettin old?I love my Lucas!! ...just ask me!
