    It is what it is, Tas oak is what it is known as, it's just a common name for a species, also a reconise name in the market place, I'm going to drop some Tas Oak this w/end. I'm also going to mill the Tas Oak, Then I'm going to sell some Tas Oak and becauce it is Tas Oak i'm going to get lost of money for my Tas Oak becauce it is Tas oak.

    I dunno I d think for around $1 an inch that some flitch candle stick holders,photo frames an small furnishings go for at markets an gallery's, I think that they d have to worth some thing? What s Tassie ash worth a cube

    Sorry Jonny, can't let that one go on a public forum. Tas Oak is not a common name for a species. It refers several different timbers that are maketed as Tas Oak.

    Google it.

    Tas Oak is about as useful a species name as Red Gum.

    He's a timber user providing his thoughts on the relative usefulness of 2 types of timber. I'm with him, enough of pedantry.
    But....Tas Oak is as much of an oak as far as I'm concerned as Silky Oak.
