    Default Sleepers, Redgum.

I'm in the mkt for a mill frame to go on my Shtill 18" chainy.
I have a heap of huge railway reds I wanna try to plank or slab then remill on the rip bench into project size peices.
Ummmmm...are the sleepers not diam enough to get a mill on them? Too small for a mill. Guess I'd only get a bout 2 maybe 3 cuts to length.
    Not sure.

    Comments?

    Shane? What do ya reckon?

    Cheers.
Don't pass them by! Be daring and caring!

Dampen their misery....sit with them and talk a little.

Buy them something to eat and a tram fare to a local mission.
I'm so lucky that I've somewhere to live and have family support.

Martrix has milled a few sleepers using a home made Chain Saw mill (CSM), you might want to ask him directly

I'd be looking at using a bandsaw (BS) if possible simply because you lose so much timber using a CSM.

However, if you have no BS I'd make sure to use a 0.05" low profile bar/chain.

    Cheers
