Log skidder?
Not sure of the correct name for this and not sure if someone might have posted a similar photo. It is now a garden ornament in the front yard of a house just south of Wardell, NSW.
I think that the bow was tilted back and a chain placed around the log. When it was pulled forward the log end was lifted. Would love to have one myself.

GT, I could (price and transport to Rocky dependant) be interested in some 50 thick boards/slabs and some figured stuff (crotch and branch intersections) of the Black Wattle if you decide to sell any.
Pete
PS If you do sell any of the BW before you cut it I'd like a say in how I want it cut please. if it's not too much trouble.

Hey Pete, have started taking out BW see new thread, there is a lot of it so will have more than I need.
I would think we can work something out, no problem as to how you want it cut.
Am a little way away from milling yet concentrating on getting it out first.
Cheers
Chris

not much the massey wouldn't pull, I use a holden rodeo with a load of wood in the back for traction, before that I used a hilux, on occasions I put chains on the rear wheels. I mainly use my winch trailer these days, it also tilts and it is a single axle. If the butt of the log is off the ground I can usually back the trailer in under the log, saves having to use the hand winch which is slow. Thinking about getting a electric winch for future use.
