    Default Southern Silky Oak Stump

    This old fellow is well over 2 meters high and about as long.

    All logs and stumps were salvaged from dead standing trees...100% salvaged!!...plenty of dead ones around my area Artme...more pics this arvo...MM

    Don't often back saw stuff but when there is tasty grain i gotta think twice...these back sawn butterfly pairs off the saw today reminded me how pretty Silky was and how easy it is to mill...these came from upper part of the bole...MM

    Usually back sawn silky - in my experience at least - is pretty ordinary.
