    Default spliting posts with allan.

    i have a job to build a 200m long split post and rail fence, you know old style



    my back is ####ed so i organised for allan to do the spliting and im falling and sniging the logs.

    pics are in chronological order.

    I don't know if you have seen this video. It was posted in another thread quite a while back. have a look in particular at the giant froe they use for splitting off boards. It may give you some ideas. The whole lot may amuse you but the splitting with their froe occurs at about 10mins 30secs.

    After my beloved spotted gum, grey gum is another favourite, but from memory not a free splitting timber.
