Thread: spotted gum with potential

A bit dependable on the climate and time of year, but between two and four months probably. I can't say I have ever timed it so it is more an impression of how long it was before I returned to the log I posted earlier in the thread. Don't leave it too long as it is susceptible to insect attack and your spectacular grain will have pinholes all through it.

Thanks Paul, I have it all milled and stacked now, but I happened to notice that the bark was starting to tessellate. I think this one will have to be FOG wood. I just went and picked up a big blue gum branch that had come down probably about 500mm dia with a double heart in it have you ever come across this before?
