I suspect that if you did not want then then they are either pretty ordinary, or he is asking too much for them.

Not to take this out on you, but this... "I have For Sale ABC. who wants it ....what you offering me" attitude is beginning to really $#!T me off, I have just spent two weeks in WA trying to organise timber. It appears everyone has some and they all want to sell it, right upto the point where you ask for a price...
Then it's...." well what you offering?, you know once it's sold, I won't have it any more, and it's gotta be worth a bit cause I've had it for 8 years... never used it, not likely to....But it's rare as you know!!"
So you spend the next hour trying to work things out, finally you find out that it used to be twice the length, UNTIL last year during the winter they cut it up for firewood [Reason being = They didn't want to pay $175 a cube ...!!.. so you offer $300 per slab and they say No it surely worth $3000 a cube. After saying OK they decide they don't want to sell cause someone else might offer MORE....

WELL that just wasted the last 3Hrs and for nothing...

So I'll get off my box know and politely ask again what are they asking.. as Ppl should not sell stuff if they don't know how much they want for it..

i am trying to do a good turn for a neighbour it has nothing to do with me.

these logs are sitting in the middle of his dump and will be pushed over the edge if no one wants them.

he has already been given $100 to dump them there so anything is better than nothing. normally i can take anything i want for free as it saves him starting up the dozer.

in saying that the going rate for logs is $50-$120/log cube delivered to the mill.

This is not a go at Carl but in general at "for sales"

I am with you Salty72 - they know what they want for them but dont want to give the figure out for fear -
you will tell them to get stuiffed it is rediculous
    or
in case you offer more than they want.

I have noticed a lot lately that someone wants to sell something but wont tell you what the price is.- this gives me the Shytes - they know what they have in mind so just say it.

david gets off soap box now.
    regards

    David

Carl, these the ones you contacted me about? Have you got any market for it down there?

I'd happily come down and mill 'em where they are, just depends on a market and $'s turnover.

Also I know you aren't too keen on spotty
I love my Lucas!! ...just ask me!
