Stihl 025 chain tension
A mate has given me his Stihl 025 chainsaw with a request to sharpen
and tighten the chain.
I have undone the two large nuts that hold the protective cover on
the bar/chain but is difficult to remove it. Unlike other chain saws
I have had which come off easily this is stuck fairly hard.
Are there any more nuts or items to remove to get at the chain?

Should only be the two nuts. Try a gentle tap around cover, probably heaps of crap build up inside, which is probably cooked on due to lack of oil getting to chain

Just came back from the shed after having viewed a YouTube video showing
that there were only the two nuts involved.
I had to jemmy it off using two screwdrivers as levers and as I now read in your
response there was a heap of crap inside. My mate had only just purchased it at
a garage sale ... I would say it hasn't been used in a long time.
Thanks for taking the time to respond Neil ... now all will be ok.
