    Dont you guys just calculate off the sed over there? RxRx3.147xL easy and all taken off the small end diameter in my neck of the woods, when buying em anyway

    Nifty, buying or selling I measure both ends, then take an average of both ends to use when doing volume. I figure it's the most fair, in the instance of buying, with a tapered log you end up shortchanging the seller as you will always use/sell boards shorter than the full length of log. and when cutting for others, you still have to cut through the tapered amount of volume, not just a cylinder of SED - just my thing

    logs bought are measured on center diameter. the normal way to do it is to use a girthing strap. but if you don't have one an average of both ends will suffice.

    when i do mobile i work on the small end diameter.
