Yesterday I joined the Lucas community by buying a model 7.

A small one I know but it was what I could afford/justify.

Today I've got to get it setup and get started on milling some dimenstioned timber rather than just slabs that I've been doing for the last 6 years or so.

First day went ok. Steep learning curve. I've worked on Lucas mills before but today was my first day flying solo.

I'm absolutely nackered but it was a good day.

    Something I should mention...

When I went to the factory to collect my mill Mathew observed that I was of above average height (6'7"). He offered me the end frames for the electric mill instead of the standard frames which are a foot shorter. I've only been using the mill a few days and I can say that the shorter standard end frames would have been a major PITN. With the taller end frames I don't have to duck and I can handle bigger logs
