Default Is there a recommended one of these?

I have some wayward limbs around the house and hoped someone could recommend a Limb Rope Chainsaw
that is reliable and worth the money.
The reviews on most of these make you wonder if any are worth it.
Unfortunately the tree loppers in our area give 'eye watering' quotes. Seems typical of living in this location.
Therefore my request for a tested and tried brand.

    Cheers, Fred

As long as you are aware that it's not as simple as the Youtube vids show.
When a branch is only cut from above they rarely make a clean cut.
The branches usually snap off before the cut is finished and can be left hanging ie dangerous,
Branches that doo fall also leave a pokey out bit of wood on the tree - this is an open doorway to pests/rot/etc

The eye watering quotes from tree loppers is that unlike an individual they have pay wages at the going rate and hopefully have (expensive) insurance.
They should at least produce clean cuts.

& the compliance costs associated with 'high risk work.'

Thank you BobL and Mobyturns for your response.
I am well aware of the limitations of this type of lopping having used chainsaws on and off for the best part of 60 years.
My age now prevents me from scaling ladders and trees.
Re costing in SE Qld, there is the 'this is where you can retire' attitude to many of our workers and 'all people living here are wealthy'.
Enough on that. I wouldn't live anywhere else.
    Cheers, Fred

Have you considered a battery powered electric pole saw?

    I have one of these:

    Milwaukee pole saw.jpg

With the extension it has a reach of about 2.5m (the picture does not show the extension piece). Works well, but is going to be a lot more expensive than a rope saw. I am not suggesting you go out and buy Milwaukee. I go this because I already had the batteries, charger and power head. perhaps you already have a another brand of cordless tool and that brand may have a simialr product.

    Thank you for that Paul,

Have had a quick look at what is out there and it looks good. The Green shed has a couple of models with up to 3M reach which
should get me out of trouble.

The eye watering quotes for tree work aren't unique to SEQld.
