Greg what's with the 'rough' cut?
Something not right with the profile on that slab
Lose a lot of timber when it comes time to dress it
Don't mean to be 'picky' but i'd be not too happy if my slabs ever looked like that
Lovely old tree though...did these lads mill any boards?...MM

Rough cut? Not really, great slabs no rings or faults. 60mm thick slabs cut perfectly, very happy.
Cost? Widest should be over $1K
The centre of the slabs were split into two sections that will be processed into boards on the bandsaw mill.
Also milled 3 x Sydney big camphors with associated nails, a big redgum burl and went fishing.

    BIG ERROR
Sorry, this was BLACKBUTT not tallowwood, only noticed the error yesterday, corrected now.
Also the post title should have read: 'How'..... Not Now.....
Must have been a red wine post......
There are big Tallowwoods around here, the log outside Timbertown in Wauchope is one such, around 3 metres diameter, but the logs processed were blackbutt.
