    Default Timber Milling at Eppalock

Recently I posted a call for help on behalf of a mate looking to mill a couple of old Redgum logs, too good for firewood. Two quick responses from local forumites happy to help out.

We have seen Lucas mills at WWS a couple of times but not really seen what really goes onto the process, so last Saturday was an opportunity to get our hands dirty. With Marco's help we milled two large logs into useful 25, 50, 75 and 100mm sections up to 250mm wide which are now stacked to dry. Only time will tell but clearly there will be some very nice bench tops in a year or so.

Thanks for your help Marco, it was a great day, and a wonderful experience. Importantly we produced some great timber.

Nice work guys. It's fabulous to see good timber being saved to evolve into future projects and possibly family heirlooms.
It wood (oops) would have been a waste for it to go to firewood.

Tough day at the office nice worksite on the bank of a creek. Looks a bit chilly though.
