Hi MAI,price is $260m3(plus g.s.t) delivered..transport and harvesting costs quite expensive,so i am still weighing up certain options before i commit to the purchase..will let you know what transpires..milled a bit of African Mahogany up North a few years ago..one tree in particular was around 1200mm diameter, and 20 years old..it had grown in deep alluvial soil, near cairns, and was seriously huge for its age..Khaya have quite a reputation for having fast growth rates, particularly if planted in deep, rich soils, with good drainage and plenty of sunshine and rain..tropics and sub tropics is where they perform at their best..hey will however, grow in the most harshest of conditions too,for example, the highway north and south of Rockhampton(Qld) is periodically lined with them..they also thrive in the Northern Terrritory, and far Northern Qld(Cooktown) where plantations have also been established..MM
