Thread: First Timer

Hi BobL I did use 2 bolts on the bar studs but I could only find one for the pic. Awsom design for the slide BobL and the pivot mech. I am going to mod my mill to be able to pivot around also.
I was thinking about some polly belt over my bearings but hte plastic is also a great idear.

You'll have all your friends lining up to get a slab off you. Ask them what they're going to do with it and you'll get, "I don't know, it just looks good'. The only figure I've heard for drying hardwood is 1" a year and thats for plain air drying. Paint the ends, glut it on a level surface and weight it with some besser blocks or cheap ratchet straps from super cheap.
I think breaking bar bolts may be an on going problem. What about if you took the drive dogs off and drilled and mounted through the bar with 1/2" bolt (ht if nessasary). May be easier to disconect the engine for fueling also. Then again leave in attached and roll the whole mill on its side to fuel.
