Cadaghi's lovely, Carl, but heavy as. It's very stable and quite brittle. It's also hard to find long logs of any girth. Nice work.
Cheers,
Craig

Yeah I don't mind Cadaghi too, everyone tells you to stay away from it, it's junk, what do you want that crap for, etc.
But I gave one a go, fairly large too, I got two lengths about 2.4m, the butt was 650 diameter and the second log sarted around 500 diameter, I got it from our local primary school about 4 years ago.
To date I have used sawn timber for battens on an animal shelter, a slab for kitchen benchtop and also a few of the slabs I have ripped down for step treads. Also had an offcut slab under my cement bags (to keep them off the ground and keep them dry)when I was mixing concrete for our house posts 2 years ago. Seems to have reacted like any decent hardwood. I haven't had trouble from it and the grain is really nice too. It does have a fairly large amount of sapwood, but you get that.
Show the others some pics when you cut it up CarlI love my Lucas!! ...just ask me!

Yeah a tree lopper mate of mine reckons Cadghi pulls a massive amount of water out of the ground, he has this computer gizmo with a 'belt' you put around the trunk of the tree and he can do this analysis thing with it and says big Cadaghi's can pull something crazy like 300 litres a day or something like that
