New toy
Thought you would like to see my new toy, sorry work implement. A Cat 277C
I bought it to do the earthworks at the farm but it just happened to come with this grapple... how convenient
Just in time too as I got a call on the way back from collecting it to pick up an unwanted silky oak. about 550 dia at the base.
The crane truck comes in very handy
Now for the shed and the mill.
Cheers
Andrew

I think you are a brave man telling this lot you have one of those. They'll be queuing up for a go or worse still a lend .
Ahem...It looks like a great bit of gear. Does it have a 3PL and remotes too?

I'll partly answer my own questions. It's skid steer so no 3PL, but it may have extra remote hydraulics. Still a good bit of gear.
I think I can hear a couple of people making up a grapple as we speak .

That is one wicked looking machine! You have done very well to get that through the department of war and finance. Makes my old 743 look like something from the steam era. Seems like it can handle some serious logs, but one day you will wish you had something 10 times bigger and stronger with 100 times more horse power! It is just the natural progression of how our little hobbies get out of control. But until then, you have all the fun in the world on that beast!!
Cheers

Bought from the recent Ritchie Bros auction in Melbourne.
100 acres enough?
Bring your lucas mill up and I will grade you a level pad for anything you like.
In fact, an attachment with a 20,000lb hydraulic winch is already on the drawing board.
There are some beasty logs up here.
Not much call for a toolmaker in Coffs, so give me a year or two and I will take full advantage of making a seachange move to TIMBER country.
The plan is already in play.
Getting out of Sydney was the best move ever.

Hi, Very nice toy, er! work machine, should make moving logs around a walk in the park. With 100 acres, your are not going to run out of timber for a very long time. Did the Cat also come with a standard bucket as well or do you still have to add one to the list? The missus and I are actually going to Coffs in Feb for a holiday and to check the place out, any places that are a must see/do?
Cheers
Ed.
