Red face My New whole Tree Trunk Splitter

I have a Palax Wood processor which is comfortable with logs of 10 inch diameter and less for making into firewood. I have to cut up some larger tree trunks occasionally that are only fit for firewood and it is quite a job to set them up on the Lucas Mill to cut down into 8" x 8" and then put them through the Palax.
So I had an idea that appealed to my childish desire to combine the force of my 1956 Classic Caterpillar D7 C with a static knife
The knife I made from two wear plates taken from the bottom of the dozer blade when worn out. Welded these to a length of H section girder and buried it in a ton of concrete, leaving 2 feet sticking out. Attached an adjustable horizontal knife to split into 4.
Tested with a horrible gnarly 2 foot diameter sycamore trunk

Just to say I really feel for you guys at the moment, not only life threatening, home threatening, but also livelihood threatening conditions at present with the loss of so much woodland.
Here in the UK we have had three solid months of non stop rain, so much that less than half the Winter Wheat has been planted. You can see by the mud in the video.
Strange old World at the moment is it not.
