    Default Turbosawmill Australian rep.

    Hi Guys,

    I'd just like to advise you of the appointment of two Australian representatives...

    Tony Cochrane - will be available for training at the customers site once delivered. I'll probably accompany him until he feels he's on top of things.

    He can also offer feed back on our saws. He has been using a Peterson WPF for the last 4 years and has also had experience using Lucas mills. A good guy to have on board!

    I just recently spent a few days with him and have brought back some footage of the time spent there.

    Tony will be covering the Victoria region but may travel further depending on arrangements.

    Damian Hoffman - has also decided to get on board as a representative in the Queensland area. He's had his T12-46 Diesel Kubota for almost a year now. Damian is a service engineer so his expertise will be very valuable.

    Both representatives will make their machines available for viewing if required.

    Some interesting innovations there. Any pics on how the feed mechanism works. I guess it's chain driven by an hydraulic motor. I am also interested in the setworks mechanism.

    Hi Steve,

    The feed system is on a hydraulic drive system as you suggested. The current machines utilize a dial scale method for sizing but future machines will have a drop down scale mounted on the post for vertical and digital feedback screen for horizontal.

    This is to cater for the new design being introduced where horizontal and vertical log alignment will become standard.

    Currently only horizontal taper alignment is possible.

    Hi all,

    Just thought I'd update you with some new footage from Aus. We were cutting 8" boards from Iron bark, 6" from spotted gum. Cant remember the other specis?

    The mill is consistantly getting beefed up to cope with your hardwoods. I'm completely happy with its strength now. We got a little chatter when opening the cut around the sap but nothing after that. The chatter wasnt from lack of strength just resonence.

    I'm so happy with the combo I've taken the dial system off the options. The mill comes standard with the computer setworks. Standing back and looking at the stack of timber, the computer does a good job for you. Especially looking at all the 200 x 15mm boards (thats when accuracy really stands out).

    Sideshift was set at 5%. Could take it up to around 20% while maintaining accuracy. Just waiting for Glen to upgrade the software so that it has ramp up ramp down. This would mean it could shift as fast as desired.

    Simple USB software upgrade...

    Current speed was good to learn on.
