venting my Stihl 038 chainsaw ?
My old 038 starts and runs beautifully but runs out of power at high revs (and after a few minutes of running). I'm pretty sure that it is a tank venting problem but after hours of searching cannot find where the vent is. Any guidance very much appreciated. Cheers Phil

RE VV see attached
Have you checked the fuel filter?
Have you cleaned the carby?

Fantastic! Thanks Bob, I've been searching everywhere for exactly that diagram
I've just had the saw serviced - including carbie - so assume it was done correctly, and have replaced the fuel filter. I'll check the impulse line as suggested.
Cheers
Phil

Problem fixed very easily. All I needed was avgas!! A neighbour asked me to assist felling a fairly large tree as he needed a decent size saw. The 038 Magnum ran like a bronchial dog for the first tank but improved markedly during the second tank after i used some of the neighbours avgas based 2 stroke. By the time I'd run 2 tanks of avgas it was running as sweet as the day I bought it !
