    Default I agree

We can all learn from each other and his threads show many his way of life and a lot about the bush in which he works.

There are those who considered his work practices unsafe perhaps, but he is a not a fool and I am sure took seriously any constructive criticisms made.
I am sure he would have gained from forum members some ideas that would have altered his methodology in the field.

I am equally sure that if some members considered his ideas a dangerous precedent, that other forum members may perhaps follow, that this would not be the case.
There are not that many forum members actively involved in logging and log processing and those that are I am sure are very safety conscious

    Come back

I could never understand how you found the time to contribute so much to the forum and run a business. I read most of your posts and the forum will not be the same without your frequent contributions. If you can manage it come back.

I think you guys are jumping the gun a bit, It's only been a couple of weeks since Carl visited the forum. Too early to panic just yet. I would imagine he is very busy, probably trying to catch up on some work after all this rain we've had.
    Reality is no background music.

Sent him a pm a few weeks back to see if i could get him to peer out from behind a tree but got no reply. I too know that logging is a business that you must take seriously, as i know Carl does. I can see why he took offence to some things but ive got a fiver on his return after Christmas should anyone wish to take me on. Now will someone over there hand Sigidi a kleenex my screens startin to fog up

He has probably been away for the same reasons I rarely visit the forum these days, These being time and certain minorities who like to criticise everything down to the last crossed T and dotted i, and give unrealistic and poorly educated critique about the ways certain things are done, giving everyone the impression that the only right opinion couldn't be any other than the one which they try to belt down others throats. I am sure that if you read back through the posts of the last few months you will understand those who I mean. Why is it that minorities always try to cut down those who try to have a go and share their experiences with others.

I was brought up with the understanding that everyone is entitled to put forward their opinion, but No-one is entitled to berate a person for having one or deliberately try to force you into believing that their opinion is the right one.

Carl is not the only one who has been driven away from the forums because of certain over opinionated persons, and until these persons learn a bit of diplomacy I am sure that he will not be the last.

and for the record I also agree that the weissy is sadly missed even though I do not frequent the forum much these days. actually I don't think page 1 of the milling forum has changed more than a few threads including this one in the last 2 months.

Any way merry christmas to all and I hope you all have a safe holiday season.
I am told that sharpening handsaws is a dying art.... this must mean I am an artisan.

Get your handsaws sharpened properly to the highest possible standard, the only way they should be done, BY HAND, BY ME!!! I only accept perfection in any saw I sharpen.

    Exclamation

    Well said Travis!!

For those of us who have personally met Carl we can all tell you what a great loke he is.

I hope he returns after the silly season to offer up up more interesting material.
