they are growing to close together and the thinning would be good for the rest of the trees left behind. I just dont want to junk or chip the trees i cut out.

Krunchie, find a sawmill structured for small log processing is your only answer, im sure one of them would take cypress. Good luck with it.Nev

FOr such small logs I would look at a small bandsaw mill.

Up this way, 10-14" is considered millable, albeit the bare minimum.

Agree that Cypress needs to be thinned to reduce stand lockup. My place is in dire need of a major thinning but my free time is scarce (like everyone else's).

10 to 14 is as good as tehy get, once they get larger they ger really pipey nd worth less.

where abouts in nsw, i will buy some (lots) if its not to far away.

The property is about 16000 hectare with a 1/3 to 1/2 cover of forest

where about is it mate?

there are guys i know working forestry blocks out west there cutting down to 8" logs for the mills.

out near the piliga

ill talk to a few bloke i know that work down that way and see wht they might be worth for you.
