The first bit of advice is to be more specific about your location. Local knowledge is critical in providing advice about this sort of thing.
Next would be an indication of the dimensions of the logs
And finally we'd need to see the conditions of the logs, so photos would be essential.

I've moved the thread to Timber Milling, as I believe the members there are best positioned to answer you.

Please take note that this thread will be for advice only and any selling etc should be in our Market Place or via PM.

    Good luck with it

Default Grey wood is hard to ID

    Hi,
hope that you have the logs marked as to species the different timbers have different uses. The logs have obviously not been endgrain sealed so those cracks can go a looong way.
on a more positive note, the 10 year age, as long as they have not rotted, means the timber milled should be immediately useful.

Good luck with them. If all else fails the firewood suppliers may be interested.

The photos need to be closer up, One of the logs looks like it has termites?
One looks like it has a twisted grain which means it may not be worth milling.
I'd say you should offer up a few logs away for free and see what a miller can do with them.
That will be your best guide as to whether there is anything of value in them.
The timber may not be able to be used right away as it can still moves following a resaw from such big pieces.

I Tell ya what the amount of information I've gained from you guys in one day has been more than the copious emails and phone calls I've made... my mum has taken over this estate as a power of attorney and the owner previously owned a tree loping business years ago... so I know that they r what he say they are but to me (concreter) they look the same... haha we obviously would like to sell them if possible tomorrow I'm going to head over and take some better pics and maybe try to have a count... A rough guess says in the thousands..... if anyone would like to come n have a look and take a log and use it they r more than welcome to contact me... I have thought about the fire wood side and have called a few fire wood suppliers who r going to come have a chat and a look but what sort of price would bulk fire wood go for...? I see it between 50-300 for various size loads so how would I charge someone...? then i thought mobile mill..??? Would it be worth it and who or how can I do that....

Another issue you have is the length of time they have sat on the ground, the bottom logs will have sunk into the dirt and therefore will have one face which will be stuck with dirt.

Unfortunately the time they have been left hasn't done you any favours. With the apparent age of them, how do you know what species they where? and when you say redgum you mean bluegum? Did you have a hand in bringing them in,or is that something you have been told? Still need to know where the logs are in addition to letting us know where they came from. It isn't that yard down from the Matilda servo near Burpengary is it?

Might be able to help you out with your dilema depending on more info, cheers

first thing i see from a bad photo is what looks like some big iron bark in the top right logs with the bark on .It looks like some poor logs in the front were one has been moved . You will not get paid much as a log and they will take what is good and leave the rubbish. plus you say 2.5 in dia that's a big log there should be interest in something that size. See the saw mill at wamuram they may already known of them and my help .Your could get one off the portable guys to come in and cut a couple of M3 .
hope that is of some help.

As others have said, it is difficult to evaluate what you have from a poorly stacked pile of ten year old logs. I think your best bet would be to enlist the sevices of a knowledgeable portable miller to cast his eyes over what you have.

The sawmills probably wouldn't be interested and may have less time to spend on such as project. I think I would be putting up a few more pictures taken from various angles showing the extent and size of the stack as well as individual log sizes. That would provide a basis for somebody such as Sigidi to advise.
