Sometimes it is not nice to put too much pressure on night security.

I guess the lack of posts today from the show means
1 They were really really busy
2 They were flat out drinking coffee and eating cake
3 nothing worth reporting
4 lack of photos no one took a camera
5 lack of bragging re buys
Now thats not bad Christos 5 people helping out
guess they had spent all their hard earned $$$
Nothing to see
nothing to buy

Message from Mrs Colbra
Hi Kids
I have just put young Col to bed he did not get in till 8pm....... he has such a big day helping and playing with all the Kids on the stand.
He has told me about uncle Neil helping with his new band saw, He has stuck his bottle of white shellac in the fridge and will finish it through the week.... god bless his little soul.
Mrs Colbra…….Patricia
Ps He has asked me to pack his playlunch
and he wants to go back tomorrow.May your saw stay sharp and your nails never bend

Funny you should say that, today we had Adam from show come up to me with empty 4ah cordless case found in toilets.....so disappointing for everyone on our stand after all efforts, maybe have to put a fence around our stand next year
The worst part of this scenario is that we will have to sell over $40,000 in tools to recoup the value of the tool....more work for sunday

I have to say I found it unusual that they weren't checking receipts at the door, at least not mine. I walked out with two bags of goodies that could have been pinched for all the drone on the door knew. Might be something for the organisers to look at.
Every other show I've been to along the same lines have receipt checking at the door, it's a PITA but better than someone losing $$$ to some low-life thief. If you find you have dug yourself a hole, the first thing to do is stop digging.
I just finished child-proofing our house - but they still get inside.

I noticed that too when I left, guy just nodded and smiled. Maybe I looked as tired as I felt?
Great to meet everyone yesterday and today, made it home and I've realised I forgot to buy any bloody timber! That was a bit silly wasn't it :|
Anyway, have fun tomorrow fellas and don't spend all your moneys!

Normally I would wait until after the show before posting comments on how I felt about the show.
I am excited and this comes about on how I generally feel. The show to me is like a big get together. Meeting up with a lot of people on the forum and speaking to people when they walk by.
I noticed on Saturday there was a lot of father and son walking around. Also on Saturday while in the show bar (eating my pie) I watch two couples slowly walking by and the guys were surprised to see the bar. They stopped for a quick drink as the their partners kept them company.
This might be wood working show where the majority of the people attending or exhibiting are males. I look at it a family show and not surprised to see the whole family attend.

I went yesterday, and it was my first time at a timber & working with wood show.
What can I say? Fantastic!
Got so much advice from the exhibitors who were more than happy to share heir techniques and seemed genuinely interested to have a chat with someone who appreciated their work. My score for the day:
Pen turning demo, where I got to make and keep my first pen
Then straight away went to timberbits and trend timbers' stalls, to purchase a pen mandrel, drill bit, blanks, and pen kits
Some u-beaut glow
A few of bowl/platter blanks
U-beaut wood dye pack
8" grinder and pink wheel for HSS turning tool sharpening
25mm nova jaws
Nova cole jaw set
Now if I can only finish this pepper mill that's been mounted in my lathe for 2 weeks, I can make some room for my new grand plan of turning pens and foot-less bowls.
