The last few post on this thread were done by me uploading photos.
I wanted to this post to be separate as I wanted to thank everyone that volunteered for the forum stand. It has been a fantastic time to meet with all of you and be able to discuss all sort of things.
We are a very diverse group of people coming together for a common interest weather that be wood, metal or plastic. It is the love of making something that defines us and it does show through with these types of events.
I truly am thankful for the participated in the forum stand, rostered and non rostered volunteers.
Humbly Yours
Christos

Just back from the two days at the show.
My first Sydney show and I had a ball.
It was great to meet everyone and put faces to names. Spent a heap of money, wandered around and looked at absolutely everything, watched a couple of demos and even watched as Neil instructed on the finer points of finishing. Spent a lot of time at the forum stand yacking and waxing lyrical on the wonders of the forum, converting the heathen non-forum users, drinking tea and assiting with Christos's challenge to eat all the bikkies A big thanks to Christos for steering the ship this year. He did a great job and everything ran smoothly. Well, while I was there anyway.
Only a few photos taken with the phone. I was too busy talking to remember to get the camera out most of the time.
1. Getting ready on the last day at UBeaut HQ.
2. The boss hard at work.
3. Howard from Rare Chairs on the pole lathe. Terry from HNT in the background.
4 The haul consisting of:
Jet framing set, 2x 40" clamps, 2x 24" clamps and framing blocks. I've been trying to buy more Jet clamps for years. I like them a lot better than the Besseys.
A piece of ebony for Greene and Greene style square plugs.
The polishers handbook
Some of Colen Clentons's excellent gear. The 90° square is one I already had but I have ordered a bigger one.
A HNT smoother.
A miniture ebony plane
A length of 3" Rockler multi track
Some jig knobs and knock down fittings. (Just realised I forgot to look for a drilling jig for the knock down fittings )
A set of ratchet spanners (mainly for work)
and a magnifying glass for MiniArcher to stop her from pinching mine
Again, had a great time, see you all next year.
Sleepy nowThose were the droids I was looking for.

Some items that I thought might come in handy.
I already have a couple of pairs of these, do not fog up so much as the vents on the side do help.

This is a planned for the future use.

I have not made a pencil as yet so these will be my first ones to try. I am hoping at least one will be successful.
Attachment 217555
This is only a small blade but have had occasions to do very fine cuts on small pieces. So really just to test the way I work and see if using this would be better.
Attachment 217554
It is needed.
Attachment 217556
I only have a few bits and now I have a few more.
Attachment 217552
There is a long story attached to this purchase. Has been pending for a few months so far and might be pending for a few more.
Attachment 217551
One will be a thiner skew chisel and the other will become a rounded scraper.

Couple more photos,
The water dyes I could have used about two weeks ago. So I thought that I should keep a couple at hand. The hard shellac I wanted to try so what better way to try then to use the product.

These clamps were in a box where you get four of them is a little cheaper then buying one. So I purchased four and as everyone does test the strength by putting them on your fingers that's what I did. For each one selected.
Beside why would you just purchase one clamp?????
