Default Brisbane timber and working with wood show only

Just received an email from T&WWW Show. Seems there will only be one show this year and that will be in Brisbane, 15 to 17 Sept. That leaves me out. Too expensive to fly and at 1000 kms each way it's too far to drive.

    Got possibly the same email.
But navigating through it, I saw Sydney on 02-05 June.

Advertising/promotion for these shows has been very hit and miss - I wouldn't have the confidence to assume that any of them are actually happening.

I also got the email about Brisbane being the only Show this year.

Unfortunately, I agree. I've email them twice asking about the Sydney show (after all, the website still lists it as being in June) but have received no response.

Lyle, I don't think that's the case at all. I see no mention of any dates, let alone 2023, and I see conflicting statements: At the Sydney Showgrounds, and at Rosehill Racecourse.

I can only say that at face value it looks like we've been dudded on our Sydney ticket purchases from last year.

This is pretty concrete "ONE AND ONLY 2023 SHOW":
Your current ticket - no matter which city you hold a ticket for - will be valid for our one and only 2023 Show in Brisbane.

    Default Brisbane Show "postponed"

Just received an email from Timber, Tools and Artisan Show. The Brisbane show has been "postponed". No new date given. Part of the email reads:

"Those of you who have been in closer contact with us know that we have been fighting hard in the last months to put together an amazing show for you all in Brisbane in September and to finally bring you the Timber Tools & Artisan Shows we are all craving to have.

However, a lot of our exhibitors are finding it tough with the current climate as the cost of everything has gone up. On the back of Covid, the fires and the floods and now the economic situation, many are simply at breaking point. They wholeheartedly want to attend our shows but are financially simply not able to... and without our amazing exhibitors, we don't have a Show. It means our Brisbane Show in September will sadly not be going ahead."

    And let down again....

I don't understand how the events of 2 and 3 years ago can still be blamed for another "No Show".....

Past events are blamed for lots of issues I don't think that is the problem to much has been gifted to all ,[rightly or wrongly]meaning that to work for what you are entitled to is suspect.

Phoenix may as well give up on this - they've used up their credibility with the punters (us), and I suspect a lot of potential exhibitors would have the same view.

Sorry to see it go, but the times they are a changin'.

I think they have! The website has been "temporarily unavailable" for a few weeks now. And today I noticed that the security certificate has expired.

Hopefully, a new show can, like the phoenix, rise from the ashes!

A lot of small business is hurting. The relevance of what happened the last 2 years is that small business might just be able to absorb a bad year but they can't absorb multiple bad years. Exhibiting is often very expensive for a small business with small margins. Also there has been fall out post pandemic where business has changed in many cases. For example the supply chain has changed. Now, inflation is hurting a lot of small businesses.

In regards to this show, I think they always had a fatal flaw in Brisbane by holding it in the Albion show grounds. They needed to have it in a place where people could park their cars, utes and trailers for free or next to free.
