Have a great show guys. I'm really wishing I'd organised my surgery for next Monday

I will be there for about ten minutes tomorrow afternoon to pick up some wood I've ordered but I'm at the mercy of my driver and I will have a few kids in tow as well.

Just got home after spending a very enjoyable 3 hours or so at the show. It seems smaller every year I go, but I still get more out of it than going to the Sydney show - people have more time to have a chat, less schoolkids underfoot on the Friday, still plenty to see and do.

Saw lots, learned a bit from a few people, and with glorious Canberra weather thrown in.

Today was my first time attending the Canberra Show, especially as I had already done the Sydney Show earlier on, but I had good reason for attending today excellent weather and a good friend for company. Thanks Steve (Hermit).

Only downer is that my wife gets to see my credit card statement before I can burn it.

I dropped by to pick up my wood and my chauffeur said we had time for a quick look. I got a couple of good sized turning blanks, the three blackwood slabs which were pre-ordered which will become an entertainment unit for todays driver and the driver got a nice little bowl blank and given me instructions to turn it into a 'change' bowl for her.

I love that we have a show locally and I hope we have one in the future but I do have to wonder how much longer Canberra can support a standalone wood show.
