Sorry Carry - didn't see a cap floating about yesterday, but I was working at the guild for half the time.
I did see a bunch of the 'usual suspects' - and, Baz, when a bloke is wearing a apron with bare shins showing, you don't need to lift his apron to check that he is indeed wearing shorts!
I did hang out around the canteen area on Saturday at 1pm, but no takers - perhaps in summer we can do a BBQ for the local forum members - less risk of missing people.
Sorry to hear Brendan (Felder) was sick but it was good to put a face to Jim Carroll and his better half Irene.
The show was about the same size as last year, but two years ago is was indeed bigger - but then again, we only have around 300,000 in Canberra and perhaps add another 50,000 for regional catchment, I suppist it's not that bad.

Drat and double drat
All the best intentions of going to the wood show and wouldn't you know it my five year old decides to go and end up in hospital with a temp of 41 most of Saturday and all Sunday.
I was sitting beside his hospital bed thinking, ''well does it really matter that I missed the wood show''. The answer I kept coming up with was what wood show? Yeah family is the most important thing in all our lives and sometimes we lose sight of that.
BTW he is much better now. Magic injection and three hours of obsevation and we came home at 4.00 pm yesterday. In Canberra there was only one paediatrition on for the last week, busy fella.

Pete,
Glad to hear your young one recovered well and quickly.
You mentioned you wanted to have a yarn about turning and the guild. If you can spare the time, the last Wednesday of this month (27th) is the next guild meeting. If you come along, find me - 'Burn Alting' on the nametag (and always wearing shorts) - and we can have a yarn. I can probably get you talking with a few turners as well. Have a look at the guild's website - http://www.woodcraftguild.org.au or PM me about how to get there (Kambah). Meeting is at 7:30pm.

I enjoyed my visit to the wood show on the Saturday, parking was easy once I gave up on the across road parking and used the parking inside the park which was free much to my surprise.
The hall was a good size and although not the size of the Sydney one it looked like they had everything that you would need. Even had the outside area with the timber mills going which I noticed was missing from the Adelaide show.
I only got the Veezy framing kit this time, wasnt anything else I really needed. Didnt see anyone with the Dragonfly sander so I will have to order that.
Interested in joining the Guild aswell so I might come along to the next meeting, got a brochure here somewhere
I saw Burn at the show, the rest successfully managed to avoid me and it doesnt look like I won anything in the Guilds raffleBrett
Only Robinson Crusoe could get everything done by Friday!
