Roster Mark 5
I've fixed up some issues and added another person to Sunday but still two slots to go for seconders. A note to new comers on how to get in and where to go to be met. IanW and DaveTTC have said they will be around most of the time over the three days and their phone numbers are at the bottom of the roster. If someone finds whilst they are at the end of their shift they have not seen or been told the next person is at the show it might be a good time to check to see if someone is waiting at the front entrance to get in. Having a contact person has only become an issue as Neil can't be there this year but IanW and DaveTTC have been very generous in giving their time over the three days as contact persons.
Only three sleeps to go

Goodo, that's sorted a few issues, SB.
For those arriving Friday morning, try my mobile number first, to get in, and use the alternative numbers if you can't get me. I will be there early to open up & will hang about at least until my shift is finished at 2PM. I'll be wearing a Forum cap when I come out to find you (as long s I remember to bring it!). So as long as my mobile doesn't chuck a hissy fit like it did a couple of years ago (fortunately, Neil had a spare phone & we did a quick SIM transplant ), all should go smoothly in that area......
I won't be there Saturday, or Sunday morning, so I guess Dave will be the bloke to call on those days?
For the anxious first-timers, there are no particular protocols, all you have to do is engage the passing public and extol the advantages of being a member of the Forum & get them to sign up, if they aren't already members. There'll be a laptop hooked up to the Forum for demos & they can sign up on the spot, if they wish. From past experience, many of the people who stop are already members, looking for a place to put their feet up for a few minutes, or store goodies while they go hunting for more....
Will we be having the coffee urn for members again??
The year I was organiser, I brought in my portable bench with its wooden-screw tail-vise, as a convenient place to put stuff. I lost count of how many ended up crawling under it to look at the tail vise mechanism! If you like, SB, I could bring it again, it seemed to be a good way to get folks to stop so we could start the 'sales spiel'.....
Looking forward to catching up with a bunch of you..
Cheers,IW

If anyone has a laptop they would like to lend to the stand please let Ian know. We also need a wireless dongle if anyone has one for the duration. Just found the one I usually take to the shows sitting on the desk in the dungeon at home.
I would be happy to pay for any data usage or out of pocket expenses for the use of someone's dongle for the weekend.
Cheers - Neil

Neil, I think paying expenses for using someones dongle is called soliciting and in Qld it's illegal.

Also it's probably a good time to confirm where it is being held.

dumb question...
I haven't done this before.....BUT....in turning up on Friday in the morning....how will the guys on the gates know we are volunteers for the stands......thereby letting us in for free as opposed to paying the entry fee??....is there are secret handshake?...or password? (just kidding )....or have I missed something in this thread???...........
(OK...I JUST FOUND THE ANSWER.........SILLY ME)...
