10 minutes from home, not 2 1/2 hours for the Sydney show

I've got all 3 days of organised. Just need to decide how many off them I will attend.

I was invited to demonstrate how I make Africa Drrums/Djembes, at the Festival last year.

It was a great weekend with good crowds of friendly people.

This year I'll have Djembes, Cajons and Tongue Drums on a stand.

The idea of the Festival is to allow people to have hands-on experience and kits for people to take home.

I will have a 1 1/2 hour Tongue Drum workshop on each of the three days.

Cutting out all the parts has been a huge job but hopefully the locals will enjoy them.

I would love any Forumites to drop by and say hello.

I will be up there tonight as I have a piece in the student exhibition.Also going to be giving a hand in the milking stool workshop Sat and Sun.
Looking foward to the show as Stuart is putting a lot of effort in.

I wandered down to the show with Auntie Chris today and spent a lovely 4 hours or so checking out all the displays and activities.
Met up with Scally, Royflatmate and Pac Man, all of whom seemed to be enjoying their day. Scally had a problem with some of his gear not arriving due to a mechanical problem with the truck bringing his gear down from Newcastle, but it didn't seem to disrupt his tongue drum making display which was quite busy when I left.

There is a terrific atmosphere at the show, with plenty for the kids to do, a band and entertainment plus a variety of food stalls. I can recommend the chicken sausage on a roll with coleslaw / salad for $5.00 including a bottle of water at the stall to the left of the big Japanese Tools tent. The food stall is run by a local surf club or similar and the best food value at the show.

Parking was easy and free and we were lucky with the weather, sunny all day but when returning to southern Sydney the clouds looked really threatening, culminating in a good downpour about 28 seconds after getting inside the house.

A great day out and well worth the $10.00 old blokes entry fee. It certainly is an event that The Working With Wood Shows should try to emulate.

It was certainly a cracker of a day and there was a great rollup.I spent a couple of hours helping out with the milking stool workshop for the kids.They certainly enjoyed themselves and they all walked away with a great stool.There was a mountain of shavings at Japanese tools as all the kids were making chop sticks.Plenty of hands on workshops and family friendly activities great atmosphere.Met up with Uncle Al and had a chat good to put a name to a face.
It's been raining most of the night and heading back up to do another day with the kids be interesting to see the crowd numbers today.If your coming pop in and say hello.

Well I got there, even got directed to the 3rd of 4 parking areas, so plenty of punters, especially families. The kids were catered for and the big kids had plenty to drool over and good show specials at a few of the stalls. My CC has melted.

I met up with a few forumites and the usual rounds of stirring occurred.

Yes another great day weatherwise.Crowds were down a tad on yesterday but hardly surprising given the large volume of people yesterday.
Had another day helping with the kids doing the milking stools and was very satisfying.All were keen as mustard.
An excellent family atmosphere as the kids were as catered to as the adults.Great job by all the volunteers without them it wouldn't be the same.
