Hello everyone,

well, my husband and I went to the T&WWW show today. Not since I was a kid at the Perth Royal Show have I been as excited! My husband felt the same. This is like the Royal for big kids .

As newbies to Victoria, we were impressed with the show’s standard, from the well organised parking to the excellent venue.

We chatted with many of the exhibitors who were so very pleasant to talk to. The folks at Carroll’s were as nice in person as they are on the phone.
Carins Bros (from Tassie) outside had some nice Huon Pine and gave me a good price on some pieces that took my eye.

My husband took a pleasant walk down memory lane when he checked out the lucas mill. He spent many hours on one in the country years ago.

I fell in love with, and subsequently bought, a 4 foot gnarly piece of standing Scented Rosewood that in itself is a beautiful sculpture – Mother Nature’s art. Bought from Pete McCurley of Fine figured timbers – a really nice guy with some stunning examples of various varieties of wood, the colours and grains of which my husband and I have never seen in W.A. Wow, there is some amazing wood over here in the east.

We bought a linisher - not a big purchase I know, compared to what some have bought, but a much needed item for us.

The highlight for me personally was purchasing some fabulous character pieces of Huon Pine from the wonderful folks at Wild Wood Gallery from Tasmania.
Their friendliness and customer service really impressed us. Remembering me from a brief phone call to them last week - little things like that make a big difference to us. I’m so excited. Can’t wait to get painting!

The range of timber at the T&WWW Show was mouthwatering. When we finally manage to buy a “renovator’s delight” cottage, we’ll know where to go to get that dreamed of slab for our kitchen bench top.

So, we were very happy with our time at the show. Thanks go to the organisers.
We look forward to going back next year.
