The list of Demonstrators is here. Henry Eckert is listed there.
On the Exhibitor's list, it has "Hand Tool Pres". Am I right in thinking that the Hand Tool Preservation Society has a display/booth?
That was the conclusion I also came to upon "creatively analyzing" the list as published.
That list looks more like someone's rough notes rather than a list which was intended for release to the public.
Hopefully a floor plan will be released soon which might give us a better idea.
No Timbecon or Carbatec? It really has lost its appeal!
As promised, I went round to Seaworks while in Williamstown this morning but unfortunately did not have a lot of time. It is all ticket parking of varying time periods along Nelson Pde and restricted, but free, in the streets off that. The only unrestricted free parking that I could see close by was in Ann St from Nelson Pde to the wharf area but I suspect that might be taken up by exhibitors and staff.
There is unrestricted free parking further down by the time ball but that is a fair way to carry stuff - hopefully they will have a convenient collection spot.
Out of curiosity, what publicity is there for the show to the general public?
Listening to the radio I have heard of a cat show on the same weekend but have heard nothing of a Wood work show. Could be because I do not look at every newspaper, do not not watch much TV and only listen to the radio for an hour or two during the week, or am listening to the wrong station.
If people do not know about it, they will not go. I doubt if there is much passing traffic apart from locals at Seaworks.
So not much interest in this year’s show. Who’s going? The list of exhibitors is not inspiring me much.
I'm going on Saturday - I haven't been in about 4 years and for the entry cost I'll get my money's worth just in wandering around. I'm not looking to buy much; more to compare prices and see some tools in the flesh that I may or may not want to get in the future.
I may complain a bit (previous post) but I'll be there Friday....
Good excuse to do something other than work - and stock up on some burl offcuts to bathe in resin ....
Hopefully see a few familiar faces in the crowd to tell some tall tales to.
Will be Friday am to hopefully get my pick of the timber
At present I’m planning on being there on Friday,
I’m looking forward too seeing how the new company runs the show.
And giving them some support so hopefully there is a show to go too in the future.
Cheers Matt
Yes, I may go on Friday too.
I will be going on Saturday for the same reasons as Matt.
I am going to seek out Candice as she asked me to do in an email earlier in the year. I suggest that others give her their feedback as well.
Far better to do that than just complain on here or elsewhere.
I don't mind the big boys not turning up as they can afford to advertise themselves anytime. This gives the smaller players without the big advertising budgets a chance to promote themselves so we can see what they have to offer out of the ordinary.
I don't go there hoping to get big bargains from the major players as they don't exist nowadays. I like to see something new or try something I don't have access to normally.
I hope that once the teething problems are overcome, future years will be bigger and better. The exhibitor list that Michael_m linked to is a better one than the one that is easy to find on the website.
On Friday I will either be at the show or I will be at a funeral in Shepparton
