Melbourne show 2018
I just checked Impressive Exhibitions' website to find out what is happening with the Timber and Working With Wood Show 2018. I was setting the date for my Forum GTG for 2018 and wanted to make sure I did not clash with them.
According to their website the show will be held as follows:

Click on the "Free Parking" link - It's gonna be a long walk.I got sick of sitting around doing nothing - so I took up meditation.

Hopefully, there will be enough lighting to actually see stuff. Caulfield is the pits, one literally needs a miners head lamp in that so called exhibition centre.

Links take me to 2017 event.
If you park at Caulfield, you can then take the train to Willamstown for the show.
Now maybe the event is at Caulfield, or then again at Willamstown or perhaps both. This way participants can get lost getting there and only half as many turn up.
Hopefully the orgaisers can get the right information out before the event.

Despite the Free Parking link cuck-up, does anyone know how parking will be managed? I hope it's not on-street parking as there will be a long walk for most...or get there real early.

I have been trying to find out some answers via email from the organizer. Here is what I have so far:
2 August
Hi,
I hope to be attending the Melbourne show in September but I am concerned about access arrangements.
Can you please let me know what the arrangements are for disability parking and access to Seaworks?
I have a Disabled parking permit. I walk with assistance of a stick, cannot walk very far and steps can be difficult. i cannot carry anything very far at all.
Will I be likely to encounter any access problems at this venue?
Thanks

Kindest regards
Hi Candy,
Thanks for the info. Do you know if the disabled parking is located on the premises at Seaworks or if it is on the street?
Thanks
Doug
Silence ever since.
I fear that parking will be very inadequate and badly positioned unless a lot of the wharf area is opened up for public parking and even then I doubt that there will be sufficient but in the absence of any meaningful response from the organizer we will just have to take a chance. At least the trip home will be shorter for me than from Caulfield if I cannot get a park. But then if I have a problem getting suitable access Candice has invited me to give her a call. I think she might be a bit busy on the day.
I got sick of sitting around doing nothing - so I took up meditation.

On-street parking is expensive in that area and they are dynamite on booking you. DAMHIK.
I have an appointment down that way on the 30th so will have a look and report back.Tom

I live in Willy and so am super excited about the show. Avoiding a long drive gives me an excuse to spend more than the couple of hours I can usually spare. Although on the reverse I guess all you eastern suburbs people get to have the long drive instead...
I think Seaworks will be a good venue because it is quite large, high roof, and has large outdoor area too. Hopefully the Pirates Tavern will also be open, although that may lead to some unexpected extra purchases!
There is heaps of parking right out front of Seaworks all up and down the street. However, it is ticketed and I can't recall if there is a time limit on weekends or not. Also, on weekends you will be competing with all the tourists (depending on weather). The nearby streets are probably permit zones but I am sure there will be free parking on streets closer than the railway station. Sorry, I don't know about the disabled parking. I will try wander down on the weekend and have a look.
BTW, I received an email from Phoenix (to Woodies Club members) saying "enter code xxxx to get discounted tickets" but when you go to buy tickets there is nowhere to enter any code.
