Default Melbourne T&WWW - any interest for spouses?

I will be in Melbourne for a few days late Oct, and will be attending my first Timber & Working with Wood show.

Can anyone please advise on the best day to attend of the three?

Also, are there any things of interest for my wife to see there? She appreciates beautiful timber, boxes and crafts, and would like to see some demonstrations.
    regards,

    Dengy

First in gets the pick of the timber

On Sunday you might get some good deals on stuff that exhibitors do not want to repack and take back with them

Personally I go on the Friday at least.

Well there was not a real lot of timber there last year, which I attribute to the relocation to Jeff's Shed. I cant say for sure if there will be more this year. There are stalls for some of the woodworking clubs with items for sale, which she would probably enjoy, plenty of demos. Probably enough to hold her interest for most of the day.

    Cheers

If interest not held then there is the Casino across the road, excellent resteraunts, Aquarioum across the river, a heap of outlet shops out the back door and to top it all off the whole of Melbourne City is only a 10 minute walk away, well after the 5 minute walk to the end of the venue. theatres, shopping, art gallery and a whole heap more within easy walking distance.

Always lots to do and lots to see for the whole family at Jeffs Shed. Even if they aren't interested in the Show. That's one of the reasons why it moved back there instead of the brilliant Show Grounds venue which had absolutely nothing to amuse the rest of the family

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers - Neil

The official name is Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre but it is known as Jeffs Shed after Jeff Kennett who was Premier when it was built.
It is a very large "shed like" building on the south bank of the Yarra just across from Spencer and Flinders Streets corner and is not hard to find.
I am sure that google will give you a map or there may even be one on the website for the Wood Show.

Hope that helps and trust that you drop into the Forum Stand.
