Some people are like slinkies - not really good for anything, but they
bring a smile to your face when pushed down the stairs .

Please would someone (or someones ) post a review of the show. I’d love to hear what people thought of the new format and the tools/wood for sale?

It was a very successful show as far as all the timber suppliers were concerned. Sales were great.
Patron numbers on Sunday apparently were double those of last year.
The show had a warm comfortable feeling with plenty of demonstrations and exhibitions.
We'll certainly be back next year

The one aspect of the show that I regret is the fact that you guys are always there with pieces I would buy in an instant - the problem is there is no trailer parking at the event that I know of, and to buy it and "duck back home" (Hunter Valley) for my trailer is a 5+ hour return trip
I went on the Sunday, life got in the way of an earlier attendance (I'd normally head down Saturday).
There were a good number of people there, and the show this year was spread over two halls, which gave a bit more room I thought, and showed there was expansion in the scope of the show, which was great to see.
Carbatec and VEK being there was great, I wish Carbatec had bought more of their "accessories" type stuff (they had an awesome Vertias area, and then an area for machinery, but not for the knick-knacks that we all regularly buy such as clamps, consumables and so on). TTTG and others were selling hand tools, a number of crafters/makers were there too.
I was looking for a few tools when I was there, and was told by a couple of different sellers that they'd run out of stock, which may indicate there were a reasonable amount of sales occurring.
Overall, I felt it was better than last year, and I feel the show is moving in the right direction. A testament to that is the fact that I spent 50% more time at the show this year than last year, and honestly, I could have stayed longer this year but was slowly running short on time.
The displays of student work were awesome, and I do hope this becomes a regular feature of the show - the opportunity to chat with a few of these makers was pure gold, and they can all be immensely proud of their work and the pieces they have produced!
I would really be interested to hear from some more of the exhibitors as to their impressions of the show.

I went on Friday and was chatting to the person who sells the old tools (not the TTTG stand). He was disappointed in the turnout saying that he had better turnouts at Olympic Park. He reckoned that the cost of setting up his stall was nudging $2000.00 and at that stage he couldn't see himself making a profit and was wondering if he would return next year. He didn't seem to have the usual number of tools on display that he usually has. Maybe things picked up for him over the weekend.

Hate to throw up more competition in the wood buying stakes, but the carpark at the north end of the racecourse of off Grand parade has drive through parks for a car and trailer. Might not be meant for it but thats where I park with my trailer and had no issues.
I only got there friday afternoon for a couple of hours but although not too much more there than last year, definitely seemed to be a better atmosphere. Was great to see the HSC kids had there works on display again.
I heard today that they had more people through by lunch time Saturday than all show last year.
All in all I think the organisers are on to a good thing with Rosehill, and hopefully keeps improving. I think now its up to the vendors to help encourage people along, more demo's, show only deals, more products to try before buy.
I'm looking forward to next year.
