Well what a great day eh? As others have said it's always good to put a face to the fingertips. I've had telecons with some of the fingertips, so even better to match the voices to the faces. Bloody hell, it was even almost a pleasure catching up with Sawdust Maker.
Well with the organising done Christos - thanks to you and to Neil for making it all happen.
This was indeed my first show, and I did hearspeak of "will it be the last?". I certainly hope not, but after that i made a point of asking some of the exhibitors how the day had been, and they were all +ve (I suppose you'd expect that) but a couple went a yard further to say "better than last year".
Today was for timber and catchups, and Sunday is for tools.
ozhunter gave me a lift home with my first serious load of timber, so TVM for that Adam, much appreciated. It has to be said the Adam got the timber score of the day (as well as the tool score of the day but I'd better not comment on that). He approached the Lucas Mill chappies and scored a whopping load of Spotty and Blue Gum for a stupid price which was just as well as I suspect it cost a few $$ in diesel to get it home.
So, if you can wait for a couple of years for useable timber (and can store it) go and see the Lucas chaps out the front early up and get them to keep it for you.

Just landed home from the show. Had a good day, met a few of the forumites and seen lots of goodies and bought a few of them home.
The pic is of most of the goodies and what I consider my buy of the year. 12 lengths of Spotted Gum 2.6 long, rough sawn 6x2's. Got them from the Lucas man out the front, good and cheap. Plus 6 2.6 lengths of 4x2 Sydney Bluegum at the best price. Anyone that wants this sort of timber should approach the Lucas man, very friendly and good to deal with. Can't remember his name though.

I can feel a bench coming on (in a year or two when it dries)
Got some NG Rosewood, LN dowel plate, a couple of books and some DVD's and a few other odds and ends.
Starting to plan for next year, only 364 or so sleeps
EDIT: FF must have been posting while I was trying to spell my name right. I'll ring you tomorrow FF, I left a piece of timber behind. Hopefully Greg from Boutique will recognise itIf you find you have dug yourself a hole, the first thing to do is stop digging.
I just finished child-proofing our house - but they still get inside.

"Just tell 'em the price son".
So you'll beat Bushmiller then. Couldn't even remember to cut his down when he (too recently to avoid embarrassment) visited his own property, upon which said earmarked Spotty is still growing. Perhaps Paul is going for the variable thickness look, or summint.
Err, yes apparently so. I'm just wondering what's been posted while I've typed this. By the way, you didn't write your name, or did you just give up?
