Funny the Milwaukee young lady gets a mention, when I walked past, there was a life size cardboard cut-out next to all of the tools. After nearly falling over gawking at it, low and behold standing there is the same young lady, dressed exactly the same. So I walked up to her and casually ask, "Excuse me, but how much is that" pointing in the direction of said cut-out. Because she had her back to it she was unsure of what I was pointing to, so as she turned and saw what it was that I was asking about she just cracked up giggling, my reward was the loveliest smile and the sexiest little shrug and giggle again. Definitely made my day and the show worth while!.....Oh! and all the goodies I bought too.
Oh! and I got to finally meet our boss Neil and Pauline (didn't get to say hi to her as she was very busy), as for Mr Wongo, I looked for ya!, but couldn't find ya!...sorry.savage(Eric)

Have to say the highlight for me on Saturday...apart from seeing Mr Wongs exceptional chair and Tony's lovely box in the flesh , Was having a freindly chat with Colen Clenton, I took along a square that I had bought from him a while ago, that I discovered had a slight fault...he replaced it with brand newy... no questions asked. Got to respect someone who stands by their product like that
Although enjoyable... this years wasnt quite as much fun as previous shows, as pocket money this year was down a little .
cheers

Never fear, I went back on Sunday with some friends and managed to leave a fair bit more $$$ (and an expensive hiking water bottle) behind.
I saw Wongo's chair, but I couldn't see a 1st place getter in his category - was it all a fix to dud Wongo? Some very nice stuff on display and a lot of it seemed to be deemed 'unworthy' of a place in the competition.
Now I get to look forwards to a Hitachi 12" SCMS arriving in several weeks.

I found the Show much more enjoyable than previous years.
There were fewer numbers which gave a better chance to say 'hello' to our great exhibitors and talk about their tools.
Several said that while numbers were down that sales were good. I hope they had a good show.
I found a couple of pieces of wet timber that I needed.
MWE forced me to buy a new table saw. I am looking forward to their delivery soon.
Good to talk to Scott and congratulate him on his prize. It is a very fine rocker.
I got a free gift from Neil. I am not sure where to hang the Tasmanian calender Neil but it does generate some interesting comments.
Now I have a few days to reorganise the shed again.Scally

Didn't we all enjoy the Laksa Bob?Bob
"If a man is after money, he's money mad; if he keeps it, he's a capitalist; if he spends it, he's a playboy; if he doesn't get it, he's a never-do-well; if he doesn't try to get it, he lacks ambition. If he gets it without working for it; he's a parasite; and if he accumulates it after a life time of hard work, people call him a fool who never got anything out of life."

Well, I managed to get to the show on Saturday - for all of about 2 hours
As I had to hurry around in that short time, and my main priority at the time was buying a few things that I really wanted, at the end of the day I went home and realized just how much I missed:- The few minutes of Roger Gifkin's seminar I saw was enough to really want to see the whole thing and some of the other seminars (particularly scraper sharpening)...
- I also saw the end of a Domino demonstration, enough to drool...
- I got to see some very nice work on display (including Wongo's chair) but would ave really liked some more time in there
- Finally I got to meet a couple of Forumites - Wongo and Mirboo (nice to meet you both!) - but only briefly, and didn't see any cap-wearers - probably as I was basically head-down tool-inspecting
Still, I did get a few nice things... couple of small tools, an Incra jig, and a few small pieces of wood for boxmaking (although my GSWMBO cannot believe that I payed for wood!)

it was great to meet you alex!
i had a great sunday at the show. got there around 10:30 and left around 4:45. met alot of forumites including Alexs, wongo ( congrats again on the chair!), neil and pauline, froggie40, brslee, baxter, scultptured box, jim carrol, and quite a few others. i also saw poppa and his kids around.
i was planning on spending around $1150 and actually spent just under that! i got some pen kits and snake skins from brett at addictive pen kits, some stuff from neil and pauline ( thanx guys for the stuff at the end!!!), a new BANDSAW ( bas 350 ) from carbatec, a new drill press from gasweld (a great little bargain for $200 ) some CA from gpw. i think thats it, not sure now.
the demo's were great. me and my dad watched stan make a few cricket bats, that was pretty cool. richard raffan was outstanding as i expected. and the few others i saw looked cool and informative.
the work on display was awesome. i saw the double bass and wongo's chair and was amazed. my dad now thinks scroll saw work is cool after seeing the scrolled house. i didnt see tony wards box, i couldnt find it.
anyway i had a great day...now i just got to fing some time to set up the new BS and DP.

Only being new to WWF its taking me some time to wade through some of the great postings glad I found this one, although I have checked out the forum for some time prior to joining .....what a fool should have done it 2 years ago when first I learmed of it
So by the looks of things many went to WWWS I went on the Friday just as the sky opened and opening time didnt leave till after 3 how the wife put up with being there that long no idea but we didn't leave empty handed.
If some of you were in the wet, lined up and saw a fellow sitting covered in a yellow rain poncho that was me.
Quite a few offered me help while I was waiting for wife to get tickets thanks............and the same who spoke to me during the day.
