I just got back from a quick visit to the Brisbane show. It is indeed getting smaller and smaller!
Having said that, some good timber (particularly from All Class and Boutique), and a good opportunity to look at some machinery all in one place. and some very drool-worthy hand tools that otherwise might be hard to see.
I will say I prefer the Maleny show - even with a longer drive to get there! Bit of a shame they are so close together on the calendar...
Cheers,
Danny

Just returned from the Brisbane T&WWW show.
About half the size of last year.
Even some of the once-reliable attendees eg Mc Jing, Howard Products were not there.
Carba-tec had a fair amount of machinery and occupied what seem like half the whole show. The had only one sales terminal operating, so one had to queue to pay for purchases.
Good to see the smaller players eg Jim Davey, HNT Gordon, Henry Eckert etc there.
Don't know if I will go next year.
As had been said, very little publication of the event. Are they trying to kill it off?

Such are the costs for exhibitors to attend that McJing won't even be at the Sydney show this year.

I was hoping to go today, but after being ill yesterday, i had to get a few things done in the workshop and i didn't want to spread this damm cold.
Half the size of last year!!! it was small enough last year, if thats the case, i wouldn't be surprised if this was the last year.
Hopefully ill be able to go on Sunday, thats if I'm better, as i might grab something from the Henry Eckert stand .

Although the shows seem to be getting smaller each year I still thoroughly enjoy going to them. Catching up with other woodies, watching demos, checking out tools and buying timber are always my highlight.

Last year, ShaneSmith80 and I organised the roster for the Sydney show forum stand after Christos had done the job for some years. I haven't been approached to do it again so I presume there won't be a forum stand and lounge (at least) at Sydney this year?
Like everyone else, I've noted the declining size of the show over the years BUT I will still be going this year not only to support whoever is exhibiting but also to catch up with a growing army of friends who I have met through the forum and this great hobby/passion of ours.
I'll probably go on Friday and then again on Sunday in case there are any I-don't-want-to-load-this-back-on-the-truck-again bargains?
Lunch time Friday is good for me Crowie, see you there.

I intend going on Friday and Saturday, can't make it on Sunday unfortunately.
If there is no forum stand, happy to meet up at midday at say, the Carbatec stand.

HNT gordon are showing off a new 150mm bench vice design at the Brisbane show. They put up a short video on their website. It looks awesome. Can't wait to get one!

I'll be going on the Saturday. Wouldn't miss it. I usually find something to buy and I love to see what the next generation of woodworkers come up with at the high school display. It is getting smaller each year and the way the Newcastle show was cancelled was a shocker. It is the only show in town though.
