I still had a bad cold over the weekend, and i wasn't prepared to head out and spread it to others, so i gave it a miss
From the reviews on here on the brisbane wood show thread, it Doesn't sound like i missed much.
They seriously have to change something, to at least provide a better show next year, or the numbers will keep dropping to the point we loose the show all together, i don't want that.

Thanks, I'll definitely keep an eye on this. Added to the calendar.
EDIT: My quote didn't come out, I was referring to the Illawarra show.

Thanks Andy, but I'm skipping the show this year (esp as there are two other weekends for socialising). I'd actually made the decision to skip it this year after I'd been last year, and I'm not in the market for anything atm. Maybe there'll be something new for next year's show.

Well, I'll be there.
Got some great forest oak small slabs for box makers. looks like brain structure, (will bring some 5-10mm red cedar also)
And will take that pesky snakewood that didn't sell.....
Got some 200x200 and 270x270 white beech I can bring if anyone if anyone wants to carve?
See you
Greg
Please excuse the photo dates, the camera keeps asking me to update the calendar.....really..... aren't they smart enough to do that themselves these days?

Hi Greg,
Do you have any African mahogany left over from last year's auction?
PS, The cypress pine weatherboard I bought at the auction (from the cypress pine weatherboard man !) has been a great hit with daughters (repaired lean-to) .....

Fletty don't remind me about the auction, only 3 months away on i7th September, it's a lot of hard work..... we've that bottle of good red you left last year, so hope you can make it this year for another Rollands Plains BBQ....
African Mahogany? Yes, around 3-4 boards 20mm thick, I'll bring them down, not all wonderful, but good quartersawn grain. When are you planning to visit the show?
Don't you ever stop building things? Great work as always with the Cyprus

Strange you should say that, I drove past the turn-off late yesterday after attending the funeral of an old mate. I agonised Boutique and red wine OR today's appointment?
Unfortunately I'll be overseas in September this year, there's some North Atlantic islands I haven't drunk dry yet?
I'll take those boards please and I'm planning on going on Friday and Sunday. Will pick up on Sunday if traffic/business too heavy on Friday?
Im planning on my coffin being the last piece (peace?) I make so I HAVE to keep making things or..........

I'm all for peace and quiet as well in the long term, a little longer yet.... for both of us.
I note Darwin after studying worms for 40 years was well pleased to be able to positively contemplate a final sharing relationship. Your planning reminds me of that old song Ilkla moor baht 'at, the verse of note goes:
Then t'worms'll will come 'an eyt thee oop.
Sorry about September..... there is always an absent bid......
African mahogany all yours .....collect Sunday

I was speaking to Wizard today getting quotes on CTS and Shelix cutter heads. They will be at the Sydney show with stock and show specials - just in case someone is thinking of a head purchase.
Cheers

I am interested in buying a Wood River side rebate plane, so sent an email to Timberbits to see if they were bringing any to the Wood Work Show. They are not only NOT bringing any, they aren't coming themselves.
TTLearning to make big bits of wood smaller......
