    Default sydney woodshow

just received an email saying that the sydney woodshow is changing dates ... FOR THIS YEAR

if this is correct it is not much notice for that

if true i will be quite unimpressed as i have $589 of (non-refundable) accommodation booked just a couple of days ago in order to come up for it

i find it difficult to believe that they would make a change with so little notice, a particularly bad look for a new owner ..

i am hoping that it is a misprint as there are other obvious errors in the email ... maybe they mean next year ... fingers crossed as i cannot see myself making two trips to sydney in two months

    regards david

I think it's this year. There was another post about this recently. Change of venue and date.

Definitely a date and venue change to Rosehill. Unfortunately you won't be the only one to do their dough on pre-booked accommodation.

fair enough the venue i knew about ... i think i knew that and the melbourne venue change at canberra show last year...

late notice for the date change, i reckon ... i will still go to sydney at that time and miss the woodshow this year .... i don't intend to chuck away that amount of money

i wonder whether they intend to change the dates on either canberra or melbourne as well ... my wife says she would be loath to book ahead for either of those .. will probably miss melbourne too ( we feel we can't trust them to give reasonable notice for a change) ... accommodation in canberra is easier to deal with and travel time is less for us than melbourne so less an issue if they change those dates

i have enjoyed the shows, even under the old owners but hopefully the new ones will settle in and the shows will be even better

    regards david

    Default Woodwork Shows new website

Not sure if this is old news - the new website seems to be up and running...

Timber & Working With Wood Show

(At least, I have only just noticed because the old website (via Impressive Exhibitions) is now dead)

    John.

edit: PS The mods may also want to update the links in the Woodshow sponsorship images - depends whether that is being paid by Impressive or Phoenix?

Don't take it personally Greg, it appears that there is a problem with the forum.

In node105's post - Shed build
he received the following message -

Might have to wait for Stephen the computer guru to do a bit of magic.

    See Ya at Rosehill.

    Show report
New promoters working hard to make the show a future, want to be able to offer free of chap parking at all future venues, plus access to public transport and to add other artistic ventures to build the shows.
This show has been great. Good crowds, happy shoppers, good number of formites running around, plenty of timber suppliers and wood working exhibitions and finished product exhibitors as well.
    So Mal is happy....
Hope to see you there today
    Greg
