Thanks Superbunny
I would like to echo the sentiments above. Thanks for organising us rabble.
Seriously though I had a good time and it was great to meet some of the guys and girls in person and to put a face to a forum tag. A great bunch sharing common or not so common interests.
Some good yarns were told.
I spent my usual quota of money so the proceeds should have been similar if I am any indication. Nice timber is not cheap.
I am even thinking about one of those helix cutters for my thicknesser. Has anyone got one? Would you recommend them?
Cheers,
Russ

Sorry no photos, but I had a great time.
Friday, great for the pick of the timbers, heaps of school kids. Some very keen, that was really good to see, others a little light fingered . Unfortunately dead after 3pm
Sat heaps early I was told, I slept in , but not many after lunch
Sun again good early crowd I was told (yep I slept in again ), not as many after lunch, but quite a few hanging out till the last minute for desperate seller prices I guess
It was great to catch up with many forumites with some of them that have been MIA for quite a while. I was fortunate to also go out with quite a few of the stand personnel for dinner each night . Pack up went well and I ended up helping 3 different stalls, everyone needed help, very tiring for those guys working flat out all day for 3 days in a row. I had a bit more energy left by sleeping in, so happy to help out those that have helped me out so often.Neil____________________________________________Every day presents an opportunity to learn something new

Had a great time - as usual, Many thanks to SB for the organisation and to U-Beaut for the opportunity.
Met some great potential forumites and enjoyed the "chat" as they were button holed as they walked by the stand.
The numbers did appear down to my eyes [mainly school kids] but most of the stands appeared to have customers and there were many [most] walking around with bulging bags.
My only criticism of the show would be the prices being charged in the food area - not really sure why as I'm sure people would spend more if the items were reasonably priced.

I spent Sunday at the show and had a great time. Sorry but no pics either.
It was great to catch up with other forumites, put faces to names and swap a few yarns.
Numbers of new-comers through the Forum stand on Sunday arvo was higher than last year I think.
I know we met a few interesting characters, I think we solved a few member issues and certain we even encouraged a few new members to join.
Thanks to SB for his organizing the roster and thanks to UBeaut for the stand + lounge.

I really enjoyed my time at the show. I worked with Doug (dabbler) for a shift on Sunday afternoon. It was fairly quiet by then but it gave me a chance to look around with Doug and get some great buys from Carrolls and Ubeaut. We were both after a pair of braces to hold up the trousers given both our weight losses in recent times - fortunately we got the last 2 pair from Carrolls.
A really great show that had a lot of competition from the Greek Festival and the Truck Show at South Brisbane on the same days. Perhaps a date away from these competitors would see greater numbers as people who went to the other shows would end up coming to the wood workers festival.
Thanks to who I assume is Neil's wife at Ubeaut for spending time to discuss and explain polishing while Neil was busy doing a display. She said I should come back and speak to him later, but I doubt there was much better advice I could have got.

Thank you for the thank you for my humble efforts to get a roster for the show together. I enjoyed it so much I will threaten to do it again next year if you don't behave your selves.
