    Default DIY Hearing test

Selective hearing has its uses but if it's starting to cramp your style:

Hearing test online | Blamey Saunders hears' Speech Perception Test (SPT)

No connection other than as a customer of the company.

I only had one out of the norm. But I'm not good at hearing folk talk when there's background noise.

    Clearly it's a limited test.

    Exclamation

I hear what I want to hear when I want to hear it. Very handy skill.

Very interesting Ern - thanks for posting.

Only one below the line here, so I can't blame my hearing apparently.....

Another site which may be of interest to those trying to keep the grey matter working:

Brain Games & Brain Training - Lumosity

Lots of free stuff to be found. I started this after watching that Todd Sampson series on brain training, and have noticed dramatic improvements in my test scores over a few weeks. I still dribble and mutter to myself, but maybe not so much?

Sibilance - does this mean I don't hear siblings well - coz my sis is a school teach and shouts at me at all the time - drives me nutso!.

Don't now if I want to fix that particular issue! Kinda like it how it is just quietly.

If the missus yells at you because you did not hear her your hearing is perfect.

Don't forget there's a distinct difference between hearing and listening.
