If you can at all, stay clear of prednisone, it weakens your bones.
I used to be on Fosimax every day, now I get an infusion every 12 months.
It worked very well until I went on heavy doses of prednisone.
Cheers

Thanx for the warning Wolfie.
Had Prednisone prescribed by a rather confused and, in my opinion, dopey doctor once. Took a couple of pills and the complaint cleared up. It may well have done so without intervention of that kind.
Did a bit of research on Prednisone and decided to steer clear if I could.

Prednisone users should have bone thickness tests done on a regular basis and always on the same machine. The tests are sub subsidised BTW. I was only on light doses and not for long lengths of time and it affected my bone thickness, thankfully I haven't had to take any for years. It did cost me two cataract ops as well, wonderful stuff.
